Research in Digital Media and Interaction to connect users, communities and knowledge
Knowledge Media in Connected Communities brings together researchers, practitioners and postgraduate students that are interested in developing new knowledge that results from the conceptualization, development and assessment of new media products and services aiming at promoting fruitful interactions between users in their learning or practice communities.
To pursue this mission this research area integrates researchers with different backgrounds (including digital learning, telecommunications engineering, new communication technologies, UX design, computer science) that work towards the consolidation of an interdisciplinary vision for the development of digital media services and applications that can enhance people’s communication, interaction and knowledge construction processes.
Specific research topic include: New media in Education and training, Learning and Technology-Augmented Territory, Distance Education Technologies and Models, Personal Learning Environments, Social Media in Educational contexts, Interaction Design, Digital Literacies and Inclusion, and Communication and eHealth.
